Hi Henning,

I have a temporary work-around for you. If you use the coloring feature for the cards, you can assign a color for the different groups, and then assign the card for specific people. Then you can assign a card to a person that doesn't necessarily belong to the group where the card belongs (will show dependencies).

If you click on the gear on the board (don't know what this option is called in English, as we have local language on our board, but I enclosed a document to show), you can assign names to each color. The color you apply to the card will appear as a stripe on the right hand side of the card, and if you mouse-over, you'll see what group this color represent.

However, the number of colors are limited - 7 colors.

I hope this helps. I use this method in my project.

Hi. this US Not possible for US Gebäude we use The Colours for a Different Purpose. We use Them To Show The Status OF The card (Omgoing,, Pending,, on Hold)). Hi again,

We use panels on the board for the status (Not started, In progress, Finished, On hold), and move the card when it changes status. You can add several panels to put the cards according to status. Like you would do in agile/scrum projects. This way, we can move finished cards "out of the way", and it is very visible which cards that has not yet been taken care of, and which cards that is on hold for clarification or because of an obstacle of some kind.

You might have a different use of the panels, though :)

Interesting discussion, please keep it going!

Hi,
we also use the panels for different conditions of the task (e.g. not started, 50%, 75%...). The cards get reviewed on regular bases - the colours will be set back to "neutral" in this reviews. Only the cards that are actively worked on will be marked with a color.

The main reason why I'd like to assign cards to more people is just to notify them that a specific task is assigned to them and that they will get an automatic reminder if the task isn't finished.
Therefore it would also be nice to get these reminder some days beforehand (let's say 3 days) - because on "due date" it might be already to late to accomplish the task!!

Hi,

I see your point :) I have also thought that it would be nice to assign cards to several people, and also entered a with for an option to have multiple selection of boards for the card, so that you can have a board with main tasks (for example), and have private board for followups. Some followup tasks might be nice to have invisible for others :)

Is it possible to add the votes together with the similar thread noted above and get this issue addressed? The help pages state "Cards represent project work that needs to be done by one person or a small group" (https://help.projectplace.com/wiki/index.php/Action_planning) and the ability to assign a card to two or more in a small group would be great. This could be a predefined group (to begin with). The colours idea above doesn't work for me as I have 8 workstreams (so I have issues with the 7-limit already). I also agree with the comment re the due date and having a reminder date.

Hello, anonymous.
Maybe it could be a possibility to have one panel for each workstream, and maybe one panel for finished tasks (to clear out tasks that are no longer in process)? Then you can use colours for status: Not started, In progress, Finished, Under investigation, Problem etc.

@Karolina:

I'm wondering how it will go on with this topic.

Especially with regards to the possible "workload limitations" for team members (see latest Blog from 22. october - "What's up next") it could be very useful:

For example if the project manager assigns "work" to a certain group, the group can decide between them self which member will take responsibility for which action (it would enable us to assign work packages and not only single actions...). Sometimes it is hard for the PM to decide who can/ will work on which subject and who has still some capacity left !?

Will you have a look at this topic for the next update? I would really appreciate it.

Hi Henning,

I refer to Max's comment:
"Hi,
The ability to have multiple assignees on a single card is currently being discussed internally at Projectplace.
One concern we have is that shared responsibility is no responsibility. However, we also believe that it is important that the board and card reflects the truth, and it may be that several people are in fact assigned to a card.
Another though is that if you find yourself thinking that you want multiple assignees on a card, then maybe it shouldn't be a single card. Maybe it should be an activity with multiple cards in it.
Would it be useful if we kept the single-assignee concept, and instead of making it possible to have multiple assignees we could introduce a "followers" feature where anyone could become a follower of a card, to receive notifications etc? The followers of a card would be visualized on the card, but it would be clear that there is one person that is responsible (the assignee).
Regarding the question that all assignees would need to set the card to done: That will most likely not be implemented. There is only one card, regardless of how many assignees it has, and when it is moved to the last status column of the board, it will be marked as "done".
Thanks a lot for engaging in this idea. Talking to you really helps us develop the product further!"

YES - that is exactly what we need.

Hi Silvija, we would like to see option 1.The assignee will be responsible and contributers will help the assignee to complete the card.

Any idea how long it will take before a decision will be made to implement ideas like this?

I like the contributrer idea.
But a card should only have one owner.
