Hello!
This "problem" should be an easy fix! The solution is right in front of you!
Below this box Im currently typing in there is a checkbox that says "Receive notification email when a new comment is posted on this idea (you can unsubscribe at any point)"
That is exactly what I want on cards. It can be checked by default so those who dont care about this change dont get affected.
If you create a card or comment a card, you get notifications for every new comment on that card.
Example:
If I created a card and wanna ask a collegue about something related to a card I type @[his/her-name] so that collegue get a notification. Thats fine, my colleague answers and everyone is happy.
The next day I got another question to another colleague and type @[his/her-name] so that colleague get a notification.
But now, both my collegues got notifications and the first colleagues go nothing to do with this question.
The day after I make a comment as a note on that card. A note thats meaningless for my two colleagues. But since they once where mention by @, they get notifications.
The solution:
The solution for this is a checkbox that says "Subscribe to card".
If you create a card this should be checked by default. If you uncheck it you should only get notifications when someone is asking @[your name].
If someone notified me I can then chose to check it if I want to get notifications for the following comments regardless if it's for me or someone else.
I have created 300 cards in a project that I dont want to get notifications for and when assigned people start working with these cars, I will miss the notifications that really matters.
Best regards

Hi Pontus!
Thanks for sharing your idea with us! I can understand the need for being able to control your notifications that involves you. Later next year we have on our roadmap to focus on notifications. This idea will be an input to that work effort.
Best regards
Silvija
Hi
I know that in some cases I want to know who will receive notifications from a card. Just something to keep in mind when you start working with this.
Hi Pontus,
We recently introduced a Follow feature for cards, which lets you get notifications for selected events that happen with a card. In this update we also removed the automatic notification for comments made for card creators, so if you are the person creating a card, you can now choose to follow that card if you want to get notifications going forward.
