Our company has an increased demand to select and filter when searching for issues. Today's option using XL-file is too time consuming and does not really give us what we need.
What we need is when using the function 'serach for issues' get the possibility to have multiple select in first of all the field 'status' and as an additional feature for 'workflow step'.
We are many teams working on several issues and now when the projects and issues are increasing, today's solution is not good enough.
Best regards
Practically Excel extract of issues is not sortable at all, if you include comments to Excel extract. This due Project Place use multi-cell functionality.
After the business council we feel that we need to understand the needs people have for the issue management tool better. Please those that have voted, feel free to provide us with further explanation of when and how you need this. And also maybe why the current solution is inadequate.
Hello Karolina,
Instead of me aeking all my project team to provide you with feedback, I am happy to talk to you over the phone to clarify this issue further.
If you want more text in an email, please reply

Hello again,
Our Company is using this Issues tool for tracking issues through analysis and development, and we have many issues reaised and many people globally are involved. We also have different teams working on different 'subsystems' within the system, and we therefore have a way to docuemnt this to make sure we have clear responsibilities and tracking possibilities. However, now with several hundreds of issues during this long project it is improssible to sort out the ones that are of interest for your team. You want to search for all open ones which means all 'In progress', 'not started' 'verified'. An additional search criteriea is also using the workflow step.
We also would benefit of have the possibility to in addition to the above also have search criteria on the 'name' field.
I have more documentation in a docuemnt that maybe clarifiy this a bit more, but I will only send it to you if required.

Hi Mats,
Thanks for taking the time to clarify this:)
/Karolina
I agree that the current search for Issues is kind of crappy (I am a big fan of PP so don't worry ;-).
There used to be a pretty neat text listing of issues that was removed that I used alot because there you could free text search (Ctrl-F) in comments also. Today this is many, many clicks away.
One classic use case that I would like this for (and that I use in other similar tools) is the common task of writing meeting minutes:
Typically you work with or review issues during meetings, issues treated during that meeting can be tagged (e.g. PM2009-04-17) in a comment. A quick search for that tag then gives you the equivalent of the traditional meeting minutes.
I very much in favour of improvements of the search for issues and this suggestion, but I really think that the search function should default should look in comments also.
Hello Karolina,
This sounds great, as the business are asking me what is the progress on this issue.
Thanks
Mats
This is part of a business case for improved search.
Hi,
I'm moving this into the quality backlog instead.
Best regards,
Karolina
