Google Chrome is currently being installed all over the place, due to the heavy marketing Google is doing on http://www.google.com/se/etc.
When will Projectplace work with Google Chrome?
Hi Arne and thanks for your feedback,
What is it that isn't working for you?
Open documents directly in browser, open links in mails, etc. Basic stuff.
Well you would have to download and work with documents locally since the Projectplace Plug-in works in Internet Explorer and Firefox only.
Here a link to the help where you can read about how to work without the plugin:
https://service.projectplace.com/helppages/english/pese/d...
I haven't had any problems with links in mail with Chrome so it would be good to have more information about that, what types of links (i have used links from activity reports and to confirm meetings) for example. Also it might have something to do with your mail client rather than the web browser.
Well, since one of the major advantages is to work directly in one document without downloading and then uploading I think that is a major problem.
When I followed your first link I get a message stating that projectplace works better with other browsers, no big deal but it sort of states that projectplace is not following the development and is stuck in the old versions of browsers.
However, it´s not a concern for me since I just work in the both versions of Google browsers. It was just a reminder that most likely you need to fix the interface since many people I meet say that they are now using Chrome.
What is the plan? Will the plugg-in work with Google Chrome anytime soon?
Good question Anonymous, currently the plug-in works with Internet Explorer and Firefox. It would partly depend on how tricky it is to develop....and of course on how many of our users that request it. So please vote for the ideas that you like and spread the word to others.
Aha! Told you so! Well, good that Projektplace is working on it now.
Arne
I use Chrome since it is so much faster than IE. I also give my strong vote for a Projectplace Plug-in working for Chrome as well.
When will it work with Google Chrome? I now use the old Google and Google Chrome, old Google for Projectplace and Google Chrome for all the rest...
Fredrik
Also me: strong vote for Chrome plug-in. This functionality offered by the plug-in is a killer functionality for us to choose for project place. It works easier and more reliable then SharePoint (when solely used as document archive), especially while on the move.
and... if one can also edit and read documents online, I mean if you integrate also google docs, for instance, that would be a perfect job.
(if yo usolve fastness, real ajax, issues, and, more, in field editing instead of thousands of pop up just for changing a status... arrgh!)
Very good. Withour Chrome capability, I will soon start looking at other solutions. 70 % of employees have installed Google chrome themselves.
This conversation started more than one year ago. I think it is time to do something soon.
