How can I manipulate the time out.
I don't like it to log in many times that I don't have activity but still working in my document.
Hi Mark,
The time out is based on a session cookie which you renew each time you log in or create activity through the web browser. It's a security measure to prevent unauthorised people from accessing your project. Having a document open in the Projectplace Plug in does not create activity in the web browser and therefore even if you're working with the document you'll be automatically logged out after a while and need to log in again. To stop the reauthorisation window from popping up again and again, you can just renew the web page (F5) and log in. This will renew the cookie and restart the timer.
Best regards,
Karolina
I also think the timeout is way to short. I have PP open in my browser the whole day, to get quick access to documents and other relevant information. But I don't sit and reload the page all the time, so almost everytime I switch to my PP tab/browser I have to login again. This makes my work very ineffective and a reason for me to keep as little information in PP as possible.
I'm getting asked for the password several times per day becaus of a timeout - that's really annoying. There is no "Stay signed in" feature or something else. Everyone here is working on the same machine every day with his own Windows account.
I don't see any security concerns, every webmailer provides such a feature (and a longer timeout btw) and I think emails deserve even more protection. It should be in the responsibility of the user...
+1
Can't see why this has not been implemented
Hi,
Last release we introduced a login popup which will warn you when you are about to get automatically logged out. You can simply click in the popup to stay logged in.
Best regards,
Karolina
Hi Karolina, is there a way the time period for auto log out can be set by the Administrator or is this a Central PP setting?
Thanks
Shane
