It should be possible to add tags to every issue (and task, Document, ... nearly every other object in project place). They should be entered in a specific field of the object. The issues overview page should show a tag list / tag cloud. It should be possible to search for issues by multiple tags. Optionally it should be possible to define a list of 'allowed' tags (white list) by the administrator to avoid uncontrolled growth of the tag list.
Reason: Currently you could only categorize the issues by category and priority. I use category for defining whether it is an feature / module request, error or other. I would also like to keep the country and department from which an issue is given, the module it belongs to and other categories I'm currently just not thinking about. Tags give an easy and flexible way to have multiple categories w/o every time adding new fields, new searches and so on to the issues in pp.
Example for searching: Search term "+romania +invoice|order -frontend" gives me all issues having the tags "romania" (required), "invoice" or "order" (required, one or both) but did not contain the tag "frontend", As 1st step it would be enough to filter issues with one or more given tags w/o finesse like "required" or "has not".
This feature could also be realized for documents, tasks and persons. The #tag feature from the social project could also be used for issue descriptions and comments. In this case it should be possible to differentiate between 'official' tags (in a specific tag field) and tags in comments/description. The above mentioned white list should only be applied to the 'official' tags.
This feature would facilitate the retrieval of issues very much. Currently there is one big bag containing all issues only grouped by "Issue Type". It's almost impossible to overview issues concerning special topics within Projectplace.
So monitoring and reporting of issues is not well supported but with tagged issues I could at least aggregate and cumulate information.
